Lahore Woman Booked For Slapping, Threatening Traffic Warden

Gulberg police have booked a woman for assaulting a traffic warden after he stopped her from parking a car in a no-parking zone.

According to a video making rounds on social media, the traffic warden asked the woman to move her vehicle, but the woman responded with hurling threats. She warned the traffic warden with severe consequences and told him that she could get him fired for stopping her from unlawful parking. She also tried to snatch the wireless set and slapped the traffic warden.

The woman who misbehaved with the traffic warden was reportedly identified as Raeesa Masood, 29, a resident of New Garden Town, Ahmed Block.

On the other hand, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Captain (Retd) Syed Hammad Abid has started raids to arrest the woman and her car has also been seized.

CTO Lahore said that the arrest of the woman would also be ensured. The woman's attitude towards traffic wardens is reprehensible. He said that the traffic wardens have shown patience and forbearance in all situations. The wardens are there to protect the lives and property of the citizens and such an attitude is intolerable, he added.

This is not the first time someone felt entitled to consider itself above the law. Recently, a woman, who claimed to be a colonel’s wife, misbehaved with officers of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Force on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hazara Expressway.
