Imran Khan Using NAB Amendments Case For Political Point Scoring: Suharwardy

A United Kingdom (UK) court has dismissed controversial YouTuber Adil Raja's appeal to waive a £10,000 fine. The court ruled that Raja must also pay an additional £3,000.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwrady said that former sector commander of Punjab Brigadier (retired) Rashid Naseer filed a defamation case against Raja in London, on which the UK court imposed a £10,000 fine on the controversial YouTuber who is engaged in executing propaganda against state institutions of Pakistan.

Suharwardy said that Raja tried his best to discharge the case on technical grounds, but he failed to do so. In fact, the UK court has imposed an additional £3,000 fine on him. He said that this is just the beginning, adding that it is expected that a huge fine will be imposed on Raja. More petitions will be filed against him in the coming days, he added.

While responding to a question about the NAB amendment case, the analyst said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan wants to use this case for his political gains. He said that Imran Khan is only concerned about live streaming of the court proceedings so that he can do political point scoring.

Suharwardy said that the federal government has informed the court regarding the details of the facilities being provided to Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. He said that it was a good move by the government, and now PTI’s propaganda will not work anymore.

The analyst said that Imran Khan is demanding that the NAB chairman be appointed by the Supreme Court, but during his tenure as prime minister, he appointed a Nab chairman of his choice to victimize his political opponents.
