Dua Mangi has returned home a week after being kidnapped from Karachi’s Bukhari Commercial Area.
The 22-year-old returned home on Friday night. Her uncle, Waseem Mangi, confirmed to media that Dua had returned but refused to give further comments.
Last Saturday, Dua Mangi was walking on a street near Chai Master in DHA’s Bukhari area, along with a friend. They were intercepted by five men in a car, two of whom were reportedly armed, who shot Dua’s friend and abducted her.
Several people were suspected of involvement in the kidnapping. The prime suspect was a man in the US who Dua had met while studying there. The police identified the man as a Pakistani and stated that he was pressuring Dua into marrying him and had also threatened to release pictures of her on social media.
