Food inflation reached 23.6 percent during January, taking the overall inflation rate to 14.56 percent. The trend is expected to continue throughout 2020 because no one is willing to take the responsibility of the economic decisions and the prime minister himself is unable to provide leadership to the national economy. He is desperately visiting one province after the other subduing revolt after revolt against his 'selected' chief ministers but he must realise that his real enemy is inflation, not the political opponents.
