Journalist Shahzeb Khanzada on Wednesday boldly addressed all the wrong connotations associated with the Aurat March slogan ‘mera jism, meri marzi’ (my body, my choice). Extending support to the Aurat March, he said the protestors had a right to chant their slogans and no one can dictate them about what the right way to protest is.

Shahzeb, in his program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath, while criticising scriptwriter Khail-ul-Rehman Qamar for his indecent behaviour with journalist Marvi Sirmed on national TV, questioned “if the slogan ‘mera jism, meri marzi is not right, then what should be the right slogan? Should it be ‘mera jism, aur marzi kisi aur ki’ (my body, but choice of others)? He said the mentioned slogan was not against the ‘values’ of society, but it was a need of hour, considering the severe difficulties women face in Pakistan.

Shahzeb at the end of his program, requested everyone, especially the men to participate in Aurat March as its not only about women but for humanity and gender equality.
In April last year, Shahzab Khanzada had earned high praise for responsibly interviewing singer Meesha Shafi regarding her sexual harassment case against singer cum actor Ali Zafar. People appreciated the journalist for highlighting the sensitive issue on national TV in such a responsible manner.
