Former information minister of Punjab, Chohan, was sacked from the provincial cabinet after his outburst against the Hindu community went viral on national television. Chohan will be replacing Sibtain Khan in forestry, fisheries and wildlife ministry. Khan, on the other hand, is under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau.
As per reports Chohan will be taking oath at Governor House Lahore on Friday. Chohan not only used foul language against the Hindu community. In fact, he was embroiled in multiple controversies with showbiz personalities and theatre performers.
“You cow urine-drinking people, listen to me… we are Muslims and we have the flag of Hazrat Ali (RA) and Hazrat Umar (RA)’s bravery. You don’t have that flag,” he had said in a media talk. “'Idol-worshippers' shouldn’t operate under the delusion that they are better than Pakistan.”
Chohan made these remarks which led to his resignation after severe criticism by political leaders, activists, showbiz personalities, civil society, etc.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, asked Chohan to relinquish his duties as a provincial minister following his derogatory remarks against the minority community.
