Miranshah: Protest Continues Against Death of Raza Ullah In Authorities' Custody
Reports indicate that a sit-in protest is underway in Miranshah, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, against the death of Raza Ullah Dawar. Protesters claim that the young Pashtun man died from torture in the custody of authorities in the Waziristan region. This, they further allege, occurred during a security crackdown in the aftermath of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the area.

Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mohsin Dawar took to Twitter in support of the protesters. He stated that the sit-in protest was in its sixth day now.

PPP leader Farhatullah Babar on Twitter made reference to a hashtag running on social media and brought up the observation that it was not being reported in the mainstream media. He wrote:

“Why this deafening silence of 'independent' mainstream media on the torture and killing of Razaullah in custody? Where are the anchors who would tear from limb to limb politicians and others for real or imagined wrongs? #Justice4RazaUllah ”

A number of social media users expressed condemnation of the circumstances under which the alleged custodial death occurred.
