Israeli scientists are on the verge of developing the vaccine to cure the deadly coronavirus, says the country’s Minister for Science and Technology Ofir Akunis. The minister stated that “the vaccine could be ready within a few weeks and available in 90 days”.
The Jerusalem Post reported that the minister congratulated the scientists of the MIGAL Research Institute for creating a vaccine to ‘save mankind’ from this novel virus. “I am confident there will be further rapid progress, enabling us to provide a needed response to the grave global COVID-19 threat,” he added.
The Israeli media outlet reported that the scientists of MIGAL research institute have been working on the vaccine for the past four years. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MIGAL David Zigdon said, “given the urgent global need for a human coronavirus vaccine, we are doing everything we can to accelerate development. The vaccine could achieve safety approval in coming 90 days.”
Following the outbreak of deadly coronavirus in China, where the virus has claimed the lives of more than 2500 people, Iran has also been struggling a lot in countering coronavirus as the death toll from the virus outbreak has reached 77 in the country.
