A policeman who was found murdered in Phuleli canal in Badin two weeks ago was reportedly killed by his wife and two accomplices, police investigation team said on Thursday.
According to DSP Sabir Ali Gaddi and SHO Niaz Ahmed Panhwar, deceased cop, Nazeer Ahmed Mastoi, was allegedly killed by Waseem Ahmed Khan and Rasheed Ali with the help of Parveen, wife of the slain cop.
Police claim that the trio had resorted to murder Mastoi after the latter kept on rejecting Khan's marriage proposals for his daughter. Parveen, who had a troubled relationship with Mastoi, had no objections to the marriage.
Consequently, the suspects kidnapped Mastoi. Mastoi was later killed and his body was dumped in a canal with his legs and hands tied. The police claimed that they had been aware of Mastoi’s troubled relationship with his wife and this had given them several leads in the probe.
The suspects have been booked under Sections 365, 302, 201 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Police have also impounded the vehicle that was used to transport the body.
