Chief Justice Justice Gulzar Ahmed has grilled Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed over a train accident that had left 70 people dead near the city of Liaquatpur last year.
He made these remarks during the hearing of a case related to the business and management of Pakistan Railways. Sheik Rasheed appeared before the court on Tuesday morning and represented the Pakistan Railways.
Grilling the minister, the top judge said, "Can you tell us about the progress you have made in the case? All your records are in front of us." He went on to say that the minister should have resigned after the inferno claimed 70 lives.
