A woman was killed on the Line of Control (LoC), while an 8 year old girl was injured as the Indian troops opened fire near the Jandrot and Khuiratta sectors in Azad Jammu Kashmir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
The media wing of Pakistan Army said that the Indian army has been targeting the civilian population in Jandrot and Khuiratta sectors.
The wounded girl was immediately rushed to a medical personnel for treatment of injuries.
In another violation of the ceasefire regulations sanctioned by the United Nations, earlier this month, Indian troops resorted to firing in the Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot sectors causing serious injuries to six civilians, including a 15-year-old girl
In a second incident, Indian troops targeted a village in the Nikial sector of the LoC.
The ceasefire violations along the LoC have seen an upsurge in recent months as tensions continue to soar between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
Pakistan has cautioned the international community several times that India may stage some kind of ‘false flag’ operation to divert attention from the current unrest in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
