Dubai-based Mallak Faisal Zafar became the first Pakistani to win top place at figure-skating this week at the 24th International Eiscup Innsbruck in Austria. The 12-year-old bagged first place in the Novice Girls II category.
In the two-day event, Mallak represented Spain in a competition where over 200 participants from Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and many other countries competed in the winter sport.
Mallak began figure-skating at the age of 5 and has hopes of making it to the Winter Olympics soon.
