Singer Ali Zafar, will reportedly make a 'guest appearance' in Peshawar Zalmi's theme song for Pakistan Super League (PSL). Sources say that the management of the team was convinced to include him at the last moment. Peshawar Zalmi had already booked the main performer for its theme song, but they decided to make Zafar a 'guest' performer.
The high profile singer faces charges of harassment by fellow performer Meesha Shafi and they are engaged in a long drawn out legal battle in the courts.
The source, on the condition of anonymity, told Naya Daur that the other artists performing at the event were uncomfortable with Zafar's inclusion due to the ongoing case against him. However, the management later agreed to give him a 'guest appearance'.
No decision in this regard has yet been announced by the management.
After PSL's opening song featuring singers Naseebo Lal and Aima Baig was released, Zafar's supporters began a campaign on social media saying that he would have been a better choice. It was later reported by a section of media that he would perform at the opening ceremony.
In a tweet, Ali Zafar denied the news.

Meanwhile, Naya Daur contacted Peshawar Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi for his comment on the rumors about Ali Zafar's inclusion in the team's theme song, but he has not responded to our query as yet.
Earlier, he had tweeted that a 'major announcement' for Peshawar Zalmi would be made.
