A Pakistani fisherman languishing in an Indian jail was on Wednesday beaten to death by the authorities.
The fisherman, who was said to be over 80-years-old hailed from 100 Quarters in Ali Akbar Shah Goth of Korangi, was arrested in 2017 when his boat entered Indian waters by mistake.
Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) said that the person, identified as Noor-ul-Amin succumbed to his wounds after he was beaten by jail authorities in India.
Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) spokesperson Kamal Shah said that PFF was told by FCS to convey the message to the deceased's family.

He said that the treatment of Pakistani prisoners in jail was condemnable. In contrast, the Pakistani jail authorities treat Indian prisoners with utmost respect and dignity.
“It is extremely shameful and sad that Pakistani fishermen are ill treated in Indian jails, which is a grave violation of human rights,” he said.
On February 20, Pakistani prisoner Shakirullah was stoned to death in India by other inmates in Jaipur city of Rajasthan.
Angry Indian prisoners repeatedly struck Shakirullah with stones and chanted anti-Pakistan slogans. It was reported that Indian prisoners killed Shakirullah over the Pulwama Attack.
He was stoned to death after a quarrel, Rajasthan state director general of police Kapil Garg told the AFP news agency.
