FIA Summons Malik Riaz In Parveen Rehman Murder Case
Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz has been summoned by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the murder case of social activist Parveen Rehman.

According to a notification issued by the investigation agency to Malik Riaz, the chief executive officer of Bahria Town has been summoned to appear in the counter-terrorism wing of the FIA.

The FIA has directed Malik Riaz to come up with his written statement and documentary evidence regarding certain queries pertaining to Parveen Rehman’s murder.

The summons by the agency specifically pertains to the murder of Parveen Rehman, who was the director of the Orangi Pilot Project.

The FIA also stated Parveen Rehman was accommodating the poor people living in the goths of Karachi and that she carried out this exercise from 2007 to 2013.

The agency further highlighted the allegation that the relatives of the deceased were apprehensive about the fact that until Parveen’s murder, the OPP team had mapped and documented over 2000 goths in Karachi. Of these, more than 800 were located in Gadap Town, where Bahria Town Karachi and other gated communities have taken over 30,000 acres of land.

FIA also stated that the mafias behind such housing society projects were the most powerful in the land. It has directed Malik Riaz clarify his position with respect to the allegations against his privately owned society.
