Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) chief Saad Rizvi has not been released yet and he remains in custody under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti Terrorism Act.
The minister, while addressing the media, further told that 733 people involved in the TLP protests were arrested on various charges, out of which 669 have been released [after the agreement with TLP].
The arrests were made under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance.
Rashid also informed the media that 12 kidnapped policemen were returned on the night of April 19. He added that 210 of the FIRs registered, which included that of Saad Rizvi, will be taken forward as per the legal process.
