Minister Fawad Chaudhry Terms Court’s Decision To Ban TikTok ‘Judicial Activism’

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has criticised the recent decisions of the high courts banning social media app TikTok and suspending the appointment of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) president, saying that ‘judicial activism’ has caused losses worth billions of dollars.
He took to Twitter and said that Pakistan would continue to face an economic crisis if judicial reforms are not made.
In a tweet, the minister said the country would never be able to come out of an economic crisis unless judicial reforms were implemented.
“My head is spinning after reading the decision to ban TikTok and remove the NBP president. What are our courts doing? The country has already suffered losses worth billons of dollars due to judicial activism,” he tweeted.
