The popular transgender model and actor, Rimal Ali, has joined PTI, days after she was reportedly abused by unidentified assailants who shaved her head and eyebrows.
PTI Insaf Welfare Wing's Central chapter President Habib Malik Orakzai, confirmed her membership of the party and has also announced that she has been appointed as the ‘Coordinator for Gender Discrimination’.
Rimal entered politics in ‘vengeance’ saying that it was the experience of her alleged abduction and attack that made her do so, reported The Express Tribune.
Rimal however says that her appointment and inclusion in politics doesn’t means she’ll leave the showbiz industry. She will continue to work in the entertainment industry and will soon be seen in a drama.
"I was appreciated by the public when I started my career and luckily, have got opportunities to work with legendary actors and actresses, including Mahira Khan. Showbiz is my passion and I will not leave it.” Rimal said.
