This incident is the latest instance of the religiously charged violence against the Hindu Community of Pakistan. In January, a Hindu temple in the Chachro area of Tharparkar district was vandalized.
In July the new Hindu Temple being constructed in Islamabad was attacked. Hindu girls are often forcibly converted. According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, almost 1,000 young Hindu and Christian women are forcibly converted each year.
