Man Recites Azan At Desecrated Hindu Temple's Site In Islamabad

Days after the government stopped the construction of the first Hindu temple in Islamabad, a man is seen in a viral video reciting Azan at the site of the desecrated place of worship.

In the video, a man can be seen standing on the foundation of the temple and reciting the Azan, as another person accompanying him watches on.

On Monday, a video wherein a local young boy can be seen damaging the foundations of the under construction Hindu temple went viral on social media.

Last week, a team of CDA officials visited the site and told the workers to halt the construction. According to them, the structure can be built once its design is approved as per the building plan.

According to the religious affairs ministry, it would only renovate a place of worship of the religious minorities and would not build a new one. It also said the decision to build the temple would be taken keeping in view all religious aspects. The spokesperson had assured that the state will ensure protection of the rights of minorities.

On June 27, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved Rs 100 million for building the structure after a meeting with the Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri in this regard.
