Social Distancing In Tatters: Buyers Throng Markets For Eid Shopping
After the ease of lockdown, people have thronged outside famous clothing outlets for Eid shopping. A photo of the Khaadi outlet in Lahore went viral on social media, with a line of women and men lined up outside in wait for their turn without following the 6-feet distance.

People all over the internet have been alarmed and are showing concern at the violation of the social distancing measures at a time when number of coronavirus cases is rising in Pakistan.

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Pakistan, the second worst-hit country in the region after India, has risen to 30,931 after 1,476 new cases were reported in last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The death toll in the country also climbed to 667 after 28 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a gradual lifting of the nationwide lockdown despite a surge in number of coronavirus cases in the country. Khan said the lockdown has badly hurt laborers, small businessmen, and the general public. "Our tax revenues dropped 35% while exports also fell due to the lockdown," he said.
