UN Chief Experiences History And Culture Of Pakistan During Visit To Islamabad And Lahore

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres concluded a four-day trip to Pakistan thanking the country for its hospitality and highlighting its “rich history and vibrant culture”. His visit took him to Islamabad and Lahore.


In the federal capital, he met PM Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and various other members of the government. He expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir and, while speaking at the Refugee Summit in Islamabad, lauded Pakistan's commitment towards assisting Afghan refugees over the past 40 years.


In Lahore he administered polio drops to children in a kindergarten in DHA and spent time with students from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He went on a visit to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, and was also taken to the Badshahi mosque and the Lahore Fort on the evening of the same day.
