Supreme Court (SC) has suspended the notification of extension in services of COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The COAS and other parties have also been issued notices by the apex court.
Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa issued the order while hearing a petition challenging the extension in tenure of General Bajwa. The CJP said that only the president can extend the tenure of the army chief.
Attorney General responded that the extension was approved by the president.
The original petition was reportedly withdrawn by the petitioner, after which the case turned into a suo motu.
