Famed television director Wajahat Hussain – having Silsilay, Do Bol and the recent Yariyaan to his credit – has signed a new drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3. The producers of this project are Abdullah Kadvani and Asad Qureshi. Speaking to Haider Rifaat of NayaDaur Media, Wajahat said, “The subject is of utmost interest because it centres on spiritualism.” He clarified that the play is unrelated to the preceding seasons. The story arc and characters will be completely different.
“My prime focus is to give the viewers a fresh feel with this drama. We are currently at the pre-production stage and in talks with different actors who can portray characters to the script’s fullest potential,” Wajahat said.
When asked about the theme, he added, “Such scripts seldom materialize for the small screen. Writer Hashim Nadeem had brilliantly captured on script the divine love for Allah and humans in Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 1. The following season was a remake of the first. The current sequel, however, has spiritualism as its core subject. It is an interesting blend of Rumi and Omar Khayyam’s poetry.”
To conclude, Haider asked Wajahat how he plans to influence the viewers through this story to which he responded, “One thing we all have in common is our independent relationship with Allah. Our ability to connect with Him is waning with time and we are distancing ourselves from human love. Our story will have a positive impact on masses if we can effectively address certain queries.”
Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3 will go on floors mid-October.
