Funds for higher education have met drastic cuts in the Budget 2019-20.Development budget worth Rs46 billion was reserved for higher education last year but Budget 2019-20 allocated only 28 billion. The relevant authorities fear that this reduction will have a negative impact on the HEC’s new initiatives, particularly the opening as well as revamping of public sector universities in the country.
