The ICC has clarified England pace bowler Liam Plunkett from any accusations of ball tampering at the Saturday match between England and Pakistan. England won the match by 12 runs.

The questions of ball tampering were raised after an unverified video surfaced of the bowler moving fingers over the ball, following which one side of the ball looked extremely rough.

The ICC said that they have spoken to Plunkett, adding that he himself informed them of the footage currently making rounds on social media.

“The ICC is aware of the unverified video that is currently circulating on social media,The match officials are comfortable that there was no attempt to change the condition of the ball or any evidence of this on the over by over examinations of the ball throughout the game,” the body’s official statement read.
