Renowned art critic Marjorie Husain says goodbye to Pakistan after 60 years
Renowned art critic Marjorie Husain, after spending six decades in Pakistan is departing for England on Friday, Dawn news reports.

Marjorie moved to Pakistan in the sixties after getting married to Hamid Hussain. Since then she has been an integral part of the country’s art scene as an artist, art critic, curator, writer and documenter, lecturer, a close friend of the art community, and a dedicated patron of Pakistani art. (Marjorie is a founding member of Pakistan’s first art gallery established by Bashir Mirza.)

To bid her farewell, Canvas Art Gallery on Tuesday held a tea party. The event was an eclectic mix of prominent artists, art lovers, critics and members of the media. Renowned artists Wahab Jaffer, Mehr Afroz, Amin Gulgee, and Abdul Jabbar Gul were also in attendance.

Marjorie met everyone who had come to say goodbye to her with a smile. Sadly, her husband Hamid Husain passed away on March 21. Both were art students in the UK before moving to Pakistan.
