Senior journalist Asma Shirazi has revealed that she faced difficulties at her workplace when she was pregnant with her first child as she was discouraged from working in the newsroom at the time.
She said that she was asked not to host her TV show five days a week just because she was pregnant.
Asma expressed these views while addressing a webinar titled Unpacking the Media Coverage of Aurat March. She said that she resisted people telling her that, but she was shunned because of her pregnancy.
Further, Asma said that women working in the newsrooms are considered useless when they are pregnant.
