A video of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan is circulating on social media, in which she recommends extensive precautions as the Coronavirus can also “get in from below”.
In the clip, while apparently describing personal protective measures to journalists at the National Press Club (NPC), Dr. Awan says that it is necessary to protect the body, legs and feet. She further says that merely protecting the face is not enough, because the virus could come in “from below” (“Ye nahin hai ke sirf mein uskay moohn ko protect kar loon aur virus woh neechey se le aye”).
Emphasizing the need for thorough protection from the virus, the PM's Special Assistant goes on to add that this is a medical science (“Aur ye bhee aik medical science hai”) and that everyone has to work together.
