Senior leader Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Javed Hashmi has stated that he will not ask for a bail if he is arrested, adding he will write a book in jail.
"I know how to fight this war," Hashmi said while talking to media on Thursday. "I will stage my protest in front of the Parliament and the GHQ."
He further said, "This is a smaller jail, but outside, there's a bigger jail," and added, "I don't want any facilities during my imprisonment as I have spent nine years behind bars." He went on to add that he was not given food [in jail] and was beaten."

On Tuesday, Multan police registered a case against the veteran politician for criticising the state institutions, with a special team formed to arrest the ex lawmaker. Responding on the development, Hashmi had said that he had done ‘nothing wrong’ by criticising the state institutions.
Alluding to multiple martial laws in the past, he said he would not stop speaking against the institutions that have abrogated the constitutions several times since the creation of the country. He said he was ready to go jails for saying what is true.
After he parted ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the PML-N leader emerged as a top critic of the ruling party. Last year, he said that the government was blackmailing the NAB chairman through scandals for taking desired actions and arresting political rivals.
