Indian Police Shoot Dead Three Muslim Students Protesting Controversial Citizenship Bill

Protests over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill have erupted in several Indian cities, with three students being shot to death by Delhi police.

According to reports on social media, Delhi police used brute force against protesting students of the Jamia Milia University, firing live rounds of ammunition and baton charging protesters.

Reportedly, three Muslim students, including one girl, were shot dead by police on Sunday. According to a Twitter user, the three students were Muslims.

An activist stated on Twitter that unarmed students are shot dead for protesting against an undemocratic law when a mass murderer is made the prime minister.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill was recently introduced in India which aims to grant citizenship to only non-Muslim refugees from countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who have resided in India for at least six years.
