Saudi Arabia has reportedly asked Pakistan not to support China against India and isolate the Chinese amid the ongoing Sino-Indian clash. Journalist Shahid Metla made this claim during his show on News One. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had issued a statement against Saudi Arabia for not convening the meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers, but the real reason for the tensions between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is something else.
Metla said that Pakistan is being pressured by Saudi Arabia to ditch China and reduce the warmth in ties with the country as it clashes with Pakistan's arch-rival India. The kingdom has also asked Pakistan to leave China alone and lend no support to it amid the country's standoff with India.

Pakistan has also been told not to assist China with its $400billion investment in Iran. Metla went on to say that it was not possible for Pakistan to agree to these demands and that Saudi Arabia has adopted a rather aggressive approach by putting Pakistan in a difficult position. This unusual demand from the Saudis was why Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Quraishi unexpectedly lashed out at Saudi Arabia and suggested that Pakistan could seek support from other Muslim countries on Kashmir if Saudi Arabia did not support it.

Metla however adds that Pakistan's Foreign Office has rejected this news and claimed that there was no truth to it.
