Foreign Office Spokesperson Muhammad Faisal confirmed that four Pakistanis were wounded in Friday’s deadly attack on two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand.
In an official statement, Faisal said that four Pakistanis were confirmed to be injured in the attack, while five others were missing. He said that the foreign office is constantly in contact with officials in New Zealand to locate the missing individuals. The high commission is also in touch with the families.

Faisal also condemned the attack and offered prayers and condolences to the victim families.
Journalist Adil Shahzeb tweeted details of the missing Pakistanis via Twitter. They were identified as 36-year-old Muhammad Suhail Shahid, 26-year-old Syed Areeb Ahmad, 34-year-old Syed Jehandad Ali, 21-year-old Talha Naeem and Muhammad Zahid.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has declared the attack on mosques in Christchurch as a terrorist attack.
Addressing a press conference, she said that at least 40 people have died in ‘what is clear now is a terrorist attack’. “With deep sadness, I tell you that 40 people have lost their lives in this act of extreme violence. 10 have died at Linwood Avenue mosque, 3 of which were outside the mosque itself,” she said.
