2304 people across Pakistan were tested positive for the deadly coronavirus on Friday, the highest number since July. Moreover, 37 people lost their lives to the virus.
Considering the increasing cases of Coronavirus, the Cabinet Division ordered 50 percent attendance in government offices.
Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Sindh Jam Madad Ali died due to the deadly virus while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Parvaiz Ashraf also tested positive for Coronavirus. Ashraf’s son appealed to his supporters to pray for his father.
According to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) 462 cases were reported from Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir alone in the last 24 hours.
601 new cases of Coronavirus were reported in Punjab while 17 people lost their lives. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reported 262 new cases and two deaths.
Sindh reported 822 new cases, the biggest number of cases in Pakistan while 4 people died due to the virus.
A notification from Cabinet Division stated that additional secretary-I and II could decide about the attendance of their respective joint secretaries on rotation basis.
The notification also said that the face masks would be compulsory in all offices while files shall be processed through e-filing instead of hard files. In case, the hard file is necessary, it would be ensured that it has been sanitized.
The meetings will also be held over video conferencing.
The notification also directed that no visitor would be allowed without the permission of officer concerned.
