A worker of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) has died following a clash at an event at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
According to media reports, an educational expo organised by the IJT at IIUI was the scene of a violent clash between student groups which resulted in severe injuries to a student named Tufail, who later succumbed to his wounds.
Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media said that the clash was allegedly initiated out by the Siraiki Students Council.
Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson told media that when JI Vice President Liaquat Baloch was speaking on stage, him and others on stage were shot at.
Four people were injured in the attack and have been shifted to hospital.
Islamabad deputy commissioner stated on Twitter police have taken over the security of the university, while rangers had been called and the compound was being searched.
