Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) has distanced itself from senior party leader Javed Hashmi's statement against the military establishment. In a statement, the party said that Hashmi's views about the institution (army) were expressed in his personal capacity.
"PML-N believes in supremacy of the constitution and hopes to see all institutions working within their constitutional domain to strengthen the country," the party said.

Javed Hashmi had released a video on social media wherein he spoke about the alleged corruption of army personnel and said that they are not held accountable. He had also criticised Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa's visit to Saudi Arabia.
