Prime Minister Imran Khan has regretted rebuking Pakistan's ambassadors in various countries during a virtual meeting held last week, saying that his entire conversation with the envoys should not have been telecasted live. The prime minister had lashed out at Pakistan's envoys and criticised the role of the country's embassies. This public dressing down of ambassadors had raised eyebrows and people had said that it may demoralise diplomatic staff.
Clarifying that his comments were misread, the PM on Tuesday said that Pakistan's embassies in foreign countries are contesting the country's case well and have highlighted the Kashmir issue effectively.
Imran Khan further explained that he was not blaming the entire Foreign Office, which he said was doing a good job on the diplomatic front. "Only excerpts of my talk should have been broadcast live," the PM said.
