Pakistan Television (PTV) Managing Director Arshad Khan has been dismissed from his post, according to an official notification. Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry commented on the development and said the decision was approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Hassan Immad Mohammedi, who was working as PTV”s director of admin and personnel, has been appointed as MD of the state broadcaster.
The move can be seen as a result of differences between Fawad Chaudhry and Naeemul Haq, PM special assistant on political affairs.
Chaudhry has been against Khan's appointment from day one while Haq has been a supporter of the outgoing MD.

The Prime Minister has full confidence in the Board of PTV and it’s management and believes PTV should be an independent organisation like BBC and the government will take all steps necessary towards that end.
