Tik Tok Banned In Pakistan Over ‘Objectionable Content’

Pakistan has banned the social media app TikTok following the administration’s failure to comply with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) suggestions to remove “objectionable” and “inappropriate” content.

24 News reported that the app is now inaccessible in Pakistan.

According to a recent report, Prime Minister Imran Khan had asked Information Minister Shibli Faraz to review the immoral content being shared through the app and expressed concerns over the same.

PTA says that it had issued the social media app numerous warnings to control the immoral content being shared on the app, according to the countries laws but Tik Tok’s administration had paid no heed. The PTA further states that it has received numerous complaints from different segments of the society against the “immoral” and “obscene” content being shared on Tik Tok and the live streaming app, Bigo.
