IG Islamabad Says Personally Monitoring Usman Mirza Case, Briefs PM On Progress
Islamabad police Inspector General Qazi Jamilur Rehman briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan on the progress made in Usman Mirza case pertaining to the sexual violence and harassment of a couple.

Following the meeting, a statement was issued from the Prime Minister's Office according to which the IG police is himself monitoring developments in the case.

"The premier was informed that all scientific methods are being used to collect more evidence. The IGP also informed the prime minster about the law and order situation in Islamabad," the PM office statement read.
Four people were arrested after a clip showing assaulting and harassing a couple and forcing them to strip cause outrage on social media. The incident took place in December 2020 but the video surfaced a few days ago. Police have taken the phone through which the video was made in its possession to carry out forensic examination.

The FIR registered against the individuals includes Section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 354A (assault or use of criminal force against woman and stripping her of her clothes), 506 (ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the PPC.

Sub-inspector Syed Asim Ghaffar was the complainant in the FIR which was registered on behalf of the state.
