End Of An Era: Tributes Pour In For 'Tragedy King' Dilip Kumar
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98 after prolonged illness. He was admitted twice to the hospital last month.
India media quoted Dr. Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist at Mumbai's PD Hinduja Hospital, as confirming the reports of his death.
Dilip Kumar was known as the tragedy king of the Indian cinema. The veteran actor featured in more than 65 films. He began his acting career in 1944 with the movie 'Jwar Bhata'. In 1947, 'Jugnu' in which he acted alongside Noor Jehan was a hit for him.
The actor last appeared in the movie 'Qila' in 1998. Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Daag, Dastaan and Kranti are among his popular films.
Social media users have been paying glowing tributes to the actor since the news of his demise came out.
