Alleging that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report on notorious gangster Uzair Baloch had been 'tampered', PTI lawmaker Ali Zaidi has asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take a suo motu notice.
The report of the JIT in the case released by Sindh government is different than the original one, Zaidi said while addressing a news conference on Tuesday afternoon He was flanked by Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz. The PTI lawmaker presented both the reports during the presser to highlight the difference between the two.
The development comes a day after Sindh government made reports relating to Uzair Baloch, Baldia factory fire and Nisar Morai public.
Zaidi pointed out that the report does not have crucial information as to why Uzair got involved in the murders, on whose orders did he act and who got benefited from it. He asked as to how all of it could have happened sans government's support. He also ran a footage comprising different clips pertaining to the PPP and Uzair during the presser.
On Monday, the JIT relating to the Baldia factory fire declared the incident an act of organised terrorism, and named MQM's Hammad Siddiqui as the mastermind. It said that the arson was carried out over the victims' 'failure' to pay the extortion money.
