As the protest in Quetta against the Mach massacre of 11 Hazara coal miners entered its 5th day, various sit-ins have been staged in Karachi to express solidarity with the protesting Hazaras.
Traffic flow in Karachi has come to a halt for the second day in a row as sit-in are being held in 19 different spots.
Traffic police has reported that protests are being held at 19 different locations. These locations include Five Star Chowrangi, Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Aisha Manzil, Safoora Chowrangi, Johar Morr, Numaish, Kamran Chowrangi, Power House Chorwangi and Abbas Town. Other areas being occupied by the protesters are Natha Khan, Malir 14, National Highway, Safari Park University Road, Korangi 2.5, Western Bypass, Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Nazimabad 1 Chowrangi and Shah Faisal Colony.
The sit-ins are in solidarity with the Hazara who refuse to stop protesting until Prime Minister Imran Khan meets them. Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Wednesday said that he is unsure if the Prime Minister will visit Quetta or not.
