Documents presented to the National Assembly indicate that 759 convicted individuals having been sentenced to death by courts are now awaiting execution in Pakistan. The highest number of convicted individuals facing execution is from Sindh, at 527. This is followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with 169 individuals.
These documents further reveal that 14,318 convicted individuals are serving a sentence of life imprisonment in the country. The highest number of prisoners in this category is from Punjab, at 7916, followed by 3,536 from Sindh, 1,677 from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and 438 from Balochistan.
