Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to take over the ancestral homes of legendary Bollywood actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor after Eid. The current owners of the residence have been issued final notices in this regard.
The houses are currently in a dilapidated condition. Geo News quoted KP Archaeology and Museums Department Director Dr Abdul Samad as saying that after taking over the two houses, the government will begin restoration work, adding that the deputy commissioner has issued final notices to the home owner.
The owners will be able to object to the price of the houses in a hearing on May 18 after which the price may be increased by the court or the provincial government.
Earlier, the provincial government had stated that Kapoor's 6.25-marla and Kumar's four-marla houses would be bought for Rs15 million and Rs8 million respectively, and will be later converted into museums. But the home owners had not agreed to the price fixed by the government and demanded 'market rate'.
