Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a strongly-worded statement following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s address to the nation about Senate elections, saying that the polls were conducted as per law and the Commission will not be pressured into violating the rules to please a few individuals.
The statement further said that the observations made by the PM and some federal ministers casting doubts on the polls came as a disappointment to the ECP because it conducted the process as per the Constitution.
