Minister of State for Drugs and Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi has said that he stands by his statement about usage of cocaine and other drugs to manufacture medicines. He added that this happens in all developed countries.
He expressed these views while responding to criticism over a video of a jalsa in Tirah valley, in which he said that tonnes of drugs recovered every year that are burned can be used to make medicines.
Further in the speech, he said that a factory was being built on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan where drug seeds would be used to manufacture medicines.
The minister also said that India had earned $22 billion by exporting medicines made by drug seeds.
