A Pashto speech of Dawar has been doing the rounds on social media, in which he allegedly used racist slurs against a policeman over his Punjabi ethnicity. People on social media have since been criticising the lawmaker over the speech.
Last week, Mohsin Dawar along with some activists of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) and Awami Workers Party (AWP) was arrested at a protest against PTM chief Manzoor Pashteen's arrest. While Dawar and others were later released after midnight, some activists remained in custody and were charged with sedition. Later on Monday, they were granted bail by Islamabad High Court (IHC).
