Punjab government on Tuesday granted Tableeghi Jamaat the permission to hold its annual congregation in Raiwind which is scheduled for the second week of November.
The permission is subject to strict restrictions and people from districts with more than 5 per cent of positivity rate of Covid-19 will not be allowed to take part in the congregation. International participants have not been allowed to participate in the congregation either.
“Outdoor gathering only are strongly recommended during the Ijtama in which individuals should remain spaced at least six feet apart,” reads the document granting permission.
Children and the people with higher risk of virus are also not allowed while the organisers have assured the systematic screening of all the participants. “If any intended traveler is having symptoms of Covid-19 or contact of Covid positive person in last 14 days, they should be tested and only allowed to participate if tests negative for Covid,” reads the document.
Face masks are compulsory for the attendees of the congregation.
Separately, amid the increasing numbers of Coronavirus cases in Punjab, the Punjab government has imposed smart lockdowns in 830 areas of the province. There are 435 areas in Lahore which are sealed while Rawalpindi has 47, Multan 44, Bahawalpur 37, Bhakkar 35, Faisalabad 35,Gujrat 29, Sargodha 24, DG Khan 17, Sahiwal 16 Gujranwala has 14 areas sealed.
