Member of National Assembly from North Waziristan Mohsin Dawar has called out the ruling party’s Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi for making false claims about the release of funds for former FATA.
While addressing the National Assembly, Mohsin Dawar criticised the government for giving false figures when it came to the allocated finances for former FATA.
He said that they had been promised a development budget of Rs100 billion, and that he was not aware of the Rs62 billion that had been claimed to be released.
He added that according to the recent figures of the planning commission, out of the Rs48 billion allocated, only Rs 8 billion had been released.
The lawmaker stated that of the allocation according to the Annual Development Programme, Rs23 billion, only Rs 4.4 billion had been released, adding that making such claims equated to twisting of words.
